Method 1: Check the server status

Before troubleshooting, first, check the status of the game’s servers. It could be that you were seeing an error due to the game’s server being down. If the servers are down, wait for the situation to get resolved. If the servers are up, move to one of the solutions mentioned below.

Method 2: Check your internet connection

As Error Code 8001 stems from a connection error, ensure that you’re having access to a stable internet connection. To check the bandwidth, use any reliable Internet speed tester. If you find that you’ve got a slow internet connection, try to do the same on other devices connected to the same network. If you’re concluding that all the devices connected to the network are facing internet issues, then restart your network devices. Otherwise, switch over to a faster internet connection.

Method 3: Clear the cache storage of your Xbox

Click on the Xbox icon button on your controller Now, head over to Profile and System Click on the Disk and Blue-ray option Select the Persistent Storage Option and then click on the Clear Persistent Storage

Method 4: Reinstall the game

On the home screen, click on My Games and Apps Select Dead by Daylight and then click on the Menu button Click on the Uninstall option Navigate to the Xbox store and then download the game again Launch the game to see whether the issue has been resolved or not

Method 5: Power cycle your Xbox
